Witness Services Ltd - Services that we offer

At Witness Services Ltd, we offer a range of professional witness and mediation services to help resolve almost any instance requiring an independent and impartial third party. Different circumstances require different approaches, from mediation between conflicting parties, to installing covert CCTV to actually catch someone 'in the act'.

Below is outlined our 3 primary services - Mediation, Witness Services and CCTV Surveillance

Mediation - How it works

  1. Witness Services can arranged a meeting with a client, which could be a company/person/organisation who wish to set up a mediation meeting.

  2. A mediation meeting could be set up for e.g.
    • By a housing association that wishes to arrange a meeting between neighbours who have had or are having problems/arguments.
    • By a company who needs mediation to solve on going arguments between employees.

  3. The file is discussed at length so the mediation team is fully aware of past and present problems.

  4. A mediation meeting time/date is arranged which is agreed between all parties and the mediation team.

  5. The meeting must take place on neutral ground.

  6. The meeting will last as long as it takes, a further meeting may need to be arranged (same rules as No 4,5 & 6)

  7. After the mediation meeting anything that is disclosed that is either dangerous or against the law will be made clear that such information could be passed on to the client.

  8. The mediation team then submits a report to the client of the overall outcome.

Fighting against Anti Social Behaviour by using CCTV

By installing covert cameras we can witness drug dealing in communal staircases, graffiti, vandalism, problems with neighbours were one party is complaining about rubbish being thrown over their fence or verbal/racial abuse (here we would use a covert camera with sound)

 Installation of CCTV

  • We will arrange a site survey
  • Put together a report of how many cameras are needed and if it is visible to install a CCTV system as a power supply will need to be found to power all the equipment needed
  • All systems are installed for a one-month period. Prior to installation it is agreed how any site visits the client wants so we can down load footage and incidents for the client to view. Insurance is also discussed at this point to cover loss or damage to the equipment
  • A final summary is submitted at the end of the project for the client

Digital Video Recorders are used so there is no need to swap out tapes on a daily bases, all footage can be stored for up to 100 days.

If you would like to see a summarised copy of the Data Protection Act please go to our links page as we fully understand the implications of using covert CCTV systems in relation to the Data Protection Act.

If there are ongoing problems and you need them solved then the camera will record them, The Camera Never Lies.

Witness Services

A typical example of a case assigned to us from a Housing association:

We are assigned a case that involves ASB (noisy neighbours, loud music, people come and going at all hours etc)
We have a meeting with the client to discuss the case history in full.
We then make arrangements with the tenant from the property where to complaints are from and arrange 3/4 scheduled visits within a one-month period lasting 4 hours per visit.
We report all our findings back to the client via a written report.
Then after all visits are completed we write a final report that ties all the visits and our finding together and submit the report to the client.
The client then decides if the case should be closed or continued.

Covert CCTV can also be used to help with neighbour disputes. Hidden cameras can be fitted in windows or under window seals to record ASB towards the tenant, such as - things being thrown at the house/flat, arguements etc.
It can also help by recording people entering and leaving the property. This can help build a case against drug dealing or prostitution from the property.
